Democratic candidate Kamala Harris has expressed hope that she will win the upcoming U.S. presidential election. Speaking at a rally in Wisconsin, Harris said, “We will win the next election.”
This news was reported by British media outlets BBC and Reuters.
According to the reports, Harris called Trump a threat to democracy, saying, “If Trump is elected, he will enter office with a list of his enemies. But when I am elected, I will focus on a to-do list.” She noted that at the top of her list is reducing the cost of living. In her Wisconsin rally, she reiterated her promises to address issues like abortion and healthcare, pledging to lower healthcare costs.
On the issue of abortion, she stated, “A woman’s right to make decisions about her own body is a fundamental freedom. She should not have to follow government mandates.”
Harris also spoke to young voters, especially those voting for the first time, saying, “I love your generation, I love you.” She added, “You are eager for change. You are the ones who truly understand the climate crisis. You are leading the responsibility to protect our planet and our future.”
While Harris was speaking, a protester chanted, “Ceasefire now,” calling for an immediate end to the war in Gaza. Responding to the protester, Harris said, “We all want the Gaza war to end.”
She assured her supporters that she would do everything possible to help end the war. At one point, addressing the protesters, she said, “We all have the right to speak, but right now, I am speaking.”
