Trump Urges India and Pakistan to Halt War Immediately
U.S. President Donald Trump has urged both India and Pakistan to stop their ongoing conflict without delay. He also offered to assist both nations in resolving the situation if needed. Speaking at the White House, Trump made a direct appeal to end the hostilities.
Describing the conflict as “very terrible,” Trump said, “I know both countries well. I have good relationships with both. I want them to settle this matter. I want them to stop.” He added, “They have launched attacks on each other. I hope they hold back from now on.”
The U.S. President emphasized that the United States has good relations with both India and Pakistan and that he wishes to see the conflict come to an end. He expressed his willingness to help if his assistance is required.
On Wednesday, India reportedly launched missile strikes on six Pakistani cities. Pakistan responded immediately, resulting in heavy cross-border attacks. At least 46 people were killed and over a hundred injured in the clashes. The Pakistani military claimed to have shot down five Indian fighter jets involved in the operation and said they destroyed an Indian Army brigade headquarters and a checkpoint in Kashmir.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the Indian attacks as “cowardly” and vowed to avenge the blood of each victim.
